Jelena is an MSc Candidate in Global Health at McMaster University. Her background in an interdisciplinary arts and science program encourages her to draw on disciplines in the humanities, the performing arts, as well as the social and health sciences. Jelena recently spent some time in Bosnia & Herzegovina working in the field of reproductive health, and she hopes to continue exploring the intersection of gender, health, and postwar reconciliation through her Master's practicum. Her other academic interests include health workforce strengthening, humanitarian health care ethics, medicalization discourse, and the history of psychiatry. Outside of the library, you can find Jelena reading historical fiction, setting deadlift PRs, and baking pastries that look nothing like the image in the cookbook.
