James Ninia is currently a graduate student in Bioethics at Columbia University. He is a 2016 graduate of Brown University where he double-concentrated in Philosophy and Chemistry. He maintains an active interest in the areas of applied ethics, philosophy of medicine, ancient philosophy, and metaphysics. In 2015, he was recognized as an Emily Murray Fellow by the Hastings Center. After completing the Bioethics program at Columbia, James plans to study medicine with an eye toward a career in academic bioethics.
James was born and raised on Long Island, as evidenced by his love of Billy Joel and his irrational belief that everything north of Yonkers counts as part of "upstate New York." In his free time, he can be caught preparing for a hiking or camping trip, fiddling with an amateur radio, or reading the news.
